FCA Quality Organization is currently seeking a Customer Quality and Regulatory Lead to join our Quality team at Warren Stamping in Warren, Michigan. The Customer Quality and Regulatory Lead is responsible for stamping plant product and process control applications utilizing World Class Manufacturing quality control methodologies. The selected candidate is expected to develop and implement new and sustainable processes in a manufacturing environment. The Customer Quality and Regulatory Lead must be a creative problem solver, proactive and steadfast in the identification and resolution of quality issues.

Specific Responsibilities of the role include:

  • Manage MQGR and MQAS Quality Systems, Supporting Internal and External audits
  • Lead all plant regulatory compliance responsibilities
  • Represent WSP at customer plants, building relationships that promote quality products
  • Manage relationships and actions with Assembly Plant's Supplier Tables or similar processes
  • Manage associated issues as well as customer feedback and resolution meetings
  • Work with all Assembly Plant PRM's as well as all Assembly Plant Production and Quality employees to insure quality requirements are being met at WSP and all customer plants
  • Manage NCT System and to provide customers with necessary information
  • Work with production operations to quickly determine clean points and relay information to the customer where necessary
  • Follow up with WSP management for corrective actions required to close issues
  • Follow-up with internal issue owners to close issues
  • Conduct quality training sessions for new hires, both management and hourly
  • Develop hourly and management employees at WSP on critical quality product characteristics
  • Provide technical leadership in coordinating and directing cross functional teams in the application of quality initiatives to employ root cause analysis, issue resolution and to establish corrective actions
  • Enthusiastically learn and support FCA's World Class Manufacturing (WCM) principles and tools
  • Learn and apply basic and advanced problem solving tools and methodologies
  • Analyze quality defect data through stratification and mechanical engineering principles
  • Champion continuous improvement efforts through the use of Kaizen activities, benchmarking, evaluating others best practices, reviewing lessons learned, etc.
  • Employ the standardization of best practices to ensure quality products
  • Work with internal teams to develop and implement integrated content required to drive growth and maximize customer value
  • Analyze and drive improvement to quality indicators
  • Provide creative thinking to the analysis of data and the identification of new opportunities

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or higher
  • Minimum 5 years' experience in manufacturing
  • Self-directed, team oriented with demonstrated planning/problem solving skills
  • Motivated to learn new principles and ideas, and have excitement in applying these new principles
  • Previous experience with quality control systems and methodologies
  • Motivated to make a positive impact in the work environment and on the quality of the products produced
  • Computer proficient (including spreadsheet, word processing, presentation, and database applications)


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Degree in engineering or technical related field of Science degree
  • Surface quality analysis experience
  • Previous experience working in a union and manufacturing environment
  • Demonstrated experience managing employees (preferable union)
  • Previous experience implementing / managing regulatory requirements (MQGR)
  • Experience with incoming materials / supplier tables
  • Previous experience with training employees
  • Formal problem solving training / experience (Green / Black Belt, Shainin, etc)
  • Automotive experience in Body in White or Stamping
