The Industrial Engineering Manager is responsible for the Industrial Engineering oversight and direction for the Sterling Stamping Plant. The Manager will interact with HQ teams and plant leadership for existing operations and new vehicle programs as well as comprehend the requirements of operations in floor space, press and assembly loads plus setting and achieving budget and manpower targets. The IE Manager is responsible for daily, weekly, monthly and annual planning of manpower at Sterling Stamping Plant providing direction to achieve budget and business plan objectives. The Manager will interact and communicate with Manufacturing Engineering, Materials and Logistics Management (MLM), Safety and Ergonomics in addition to Plant Staff on a daily basis on all matters relating to Industrial Engineering activities. The person in this position will develop / follow up on action plans to achieve program objectives including daily, weekly and monthly reports. The Manager supports all aspects of World Class Manufacturing (WCM), especially the Workplace Organization (WO) Pillar as Sterling Stamping Plant WO Pillar Lead. Pillar Lead responsibilities include non-/value-added analysis, workstation optimization and waste elimination while also supporting the Logistics pillar to develop factory flow analysis and a plan for every part. The WO Pillar Lead works with the Plant Staff to develop and implement strategies to set and achieve Route Map Goals. The Industrial Engineering Manager will provide guidance and direction to Manufacturing Engineering and Plant personnel for new programs as well as develop efficient manufacturing processes and manpower for ongoing current activities. This position will ensure appropriate staffing and development of a highly effective Plant IE Team to achieve business objectives and also ensure common systems are developed and implemented for productivity improvement, people involvement, and throughput improvement and launch activities.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering
  • 5+ years of Industrial Engineering experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Previous supervisory or managerial experience
  • Proficient in World Class Manufacturing (WCM) or Lean manufacturing tools/methodology
  • Background and/or training in Project Management
  • Stamping plant experience
  • Strong ability to comprehend complex data streams and develop appropriate action plans
  • Strong competence for preparing documents and delivering presentations to all levels of management
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously with demonstrated capability to drive bottom line results

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Advanced degree in Industrial Engineering
  • Workplace Organization Certification
  • MODAPTS and/or other standard data system certification
  • Knowledge of MTM-UAS
  • Proficient in all Microsoft Office applications and Industrial Engineering tools
