The FCA Quality organization is currently seeking a highly skilled solutions-oriented Incoming Quality Unit Leader to join the team at the Sterling Heights Assembly Plant in Sterling Heights, Michigan. The Incoming Quality Unit Leader is responsible for managing the Part Quality Verification process, overseeing the receiving inspection crib, and being the liaison between the: supplier base, Plant Quality, SRT Engineering, and the Assembly group. The candidate will be responsible for the Manufacturing Quality Assurance System and the conformance to: MQGR and ISO9001:2008 requirements. This will require holding process owners accountable, holding management reviews, scheduling and coordinating audits (external and internal), and updating documents to match current processes.

Job responsibilities included but are not limited to:

  • Responsible for directing hourly employees to sort or rework material or parts as specified
  • Complete shipping paper requests to move special material to specific destinations
  • Process non-conforming ticket request
  • Manage scrap pick up or demolition as required
  • Governmental and Regulatory (MQGR) procedures requirements
  • Assist in root cause, containment, and corrective actions for all quality related issues in the manufacturing facility
  • Coach and enforce 8 stages of incoming quality for AA supplier
  • Single point of contact for all suppliers into the plant
  • Hands-on training, as well as, coaching salary and bargaining unit employees on the World Class Manufacturing (WCM) methodologies

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree
  • Ability to analyze and translate data into visual charts, graphs, etc., for reporting purposes
  • Demonstrated use of problem solving skills
  • Ability to be flexible to carryout tasks 'outside' of normal roles and responsibilities

Preferred Qualifications

  • MBA or Engineering degree
  • Two (2) years of Managerial experience
  • Supervisory experience
  • Knowledge of engineering specs, standards, and build objectives
