Professional Maintenance Pillar Lead - WCM Central Team Job, Detroit, MI

The Professional Maintenance (PM) Pillar Lead is responsible for leading the implementation of World Class Manufacturing (WCM) PM Pillar Methodology across manufacturing facilities. The PM Pillar Lead will drive PM pillar activities and initiatives on the WCM Central Team designed to create to create knowledge, leadership and expansion of WCM methodology. The Lead will coach and guide plant employees on the proper method and use of tools to eliminate waste and losses. This position will focus on the prioritized PM losses within manufacturing increasing throughput. Knowledge of other pillars such as FI, CD, SF, AM and PD will be required to execute plant projects and Kaizen activities with shop floor personnel to realize saving efforts. The PM Pillar Lead will create pillar standard documents, processes and implementation of best practices across all plants, support the development of Central Team Certified Pillar specialists and assignment of specialist activities to drive expansion of knowledge and pillar activities. This role will coach, guide and direct plant PM Pillar Leads for plant reviews, audit preparation and kaizen journal activities, provide direction to plant PM Pillar Leads for route map expansion, pillar score and succession development will implement projects through the advanced knowledge of WCM tools, drive implementation using the 7-step pillar approach and demonstrate verifiable results. The Lead works with global counterparts from each of the regions to establish global pillar standards and expand knowledge through the creation of course content at the World Class Manufacturing Academy (WCMA). Additionally, the PM Pillar Lead will conduct workshops, benchmarking trips and provide training to plants and effectively measure results tied to activities that eliminate the plant's waste and losses. This position is physically located at the WCM Academy located in Warren, Michigan.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering or related technical field
  • 5+ years of experience working in a manufacturing environment
  • Familiar with manufacturing operations, production processes and equipment

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in Lean manufacturing principles
  • Experience in maintenance supervision and/or skilled trades
