The Die Construction/Die Tryout/ Machine shop Supervisor is responsible for directing and supervising skilled trade employees in the die construction/tryout/CNC machining areas. The Supervisor will address throughput and downtime related issues with dies and CNC machines in a manufacturing environment. Coordinate activities according to World Class manufacturing (WCM) standards while impacting the overall equipment effectiveness in CNC machinery and increase die delivery TTM (time to market). Act as lead shift and prioritize, assign tasks for the off shifts and take lead in WCM lean manufacturing initiatives.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Tool and Die Journeyman card, or a minimum of 5 years of related technical\manufacturing experience in Tool and Die making
  • Ability to work any shift and overtime as required
  • Possess a working knowledge of advanced technical problem solving tools
  • Excellent organization, written, and oral communication skills
  • Ability to interface with various levels of employees within all areas of the plant from hourly represented employees through senior leadership

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in technical field
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Project including planning, resource scheduling, reporting
  • Green Belt/ Red X/ Six Sigma training
  • Previous manufacturing supervisory experience
  • Demonstrated ability to coach/mentor/develop team members
  • Previous experience working in a union environment
  • Strong background in LEAN manufacturing systems
  • CNC machining experience
  • Catia/NX/SMIRT CAD program experience
  • Work NC programming experience
  • Experience with body shop, stamping press automation or subassemblies
