Key Responsibilities:

  • Budget forecast, plan resources (vehicles, manpower) to meet objectives
  • Resource planning approval, product lifecycle management, timesheet and resource management, project time budgeting, expense reports etc.
  • Assign workload to engineers on an application / monitor basis; group organization
  • New Torque Security calibration engineer mentoring (manager, group lead)
  • Provide status updates to management through the program management monitoring meetings, director reviews and quality gate reviews
  • Vehicle fleet management
  • Define and refine the Torque Security calibration/validation process (group lead)
  • Provide Torque Security input to the Engineer Design & Development program estimates -- vehicles, FTEs, resources
  • Plan the Torque Security diagnostic calibration and validation activities per the DVP&R to insure the timing deliverables are met
  • DVP&R reviews and change notice approvals
  • Post post-released calibration reviews
  • Review the Torque Security diagnostic software strategy -- Level 1 failure detection strategy, Level 2 failure detection strategy, Vehicle reaction during detection and failsafe operation with active failures. Review PTSR Reliability, Durability, and 3/36 fleet issues and approves issue closure
  • Review assembly plant diagnostic issues
  • Review in field diagnostic issues
  • Participate in interviewing prospective engineering candidates


Basic Qualifications:

  • BSME, BSEE, BS in Mechanical, Electrical, Chemical or equivalent from an ABET accredited university
  • Minimum of 10 years accumulated experience in engine development, base engine calibration, or powertrain systems development
  • 3 + years of prior experience leading a group of engineers in engine development and/or base engine calibration of spark ignition engines


Preferred Qualifications:

  • MSME, MSEE, MSChemE or Masters of Science from an ABET accredited university
  • Prior experience with the development and calibration of direct injection spark ignition engines
  • Engine Hardware In the Loop development/verification
