The Powertrain Driveability and Emissions Team Lead will be responsible for leading a group of 4 to 6 Calibration Engineers in developing the engine calibrations to meet LEV II, LEV III emissions standard at lowest system cost while delivering world-class drivability. The Engineer will work in concert with the Manager and lead day to day activities working with the Base Engine, Scientific Labs, and Vehicle Teams. The Engineer is expected to lead the group to develop and implement best practice design and calibration solutions, and to perform verification testing in accordance with powertrain system functional objectives. The Engineer reports directly to the Manager and operates under the general direction of the department Senior Manager.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor of Science in Applied Physics, Mechanical, Electrical, Aerospace, Industrial, or Computer Engineering, or related Engineering field from an ABET accredited university
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in Emissions Systems Calibration Development, with the expertise to meet LEV II and LEV III emissions levels and vehicle drivability to meet corporate drivability requirements
  • ETAS INCA Tool Experience or equivalent data acquisition experience
  • Understanding of Engine System Fundamentals
  • Knowledge of spark ignition IC engines, engine/ controls and calibration/control strategies
  • Valid US Driver's License and proficient skills in public road, proving grounds and test trip driving skills

 Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering or Electrical Engineering from an ABET Accredited University
  • Hardware In the Loop Development /Verification
  • Database Management of Production Calibrations
  • Good teamwork skills and the ability to lead a small group of Calibration Engineers
  • Experience with the development of data processing tools to improve calibration efficiency and robustness
