The Safety Pillar Lead for Center Line Global Source Warehouse and Operations Manager is responsible for implementing and administering standardized EHS processes to ensure compliance to federal, state, provincial and local regulations and Corporate Policies and Procedures. This position will help achieve world class status and impact corporate savings through the elimination of occupational injuries/illnesses, property damage and improvement of production efficiency as well as safeguarding the health and safety of all employees. The Lead will focus on health and safety compliance, World Class Manufacturing (WCM) safety pillar activities, Safety Management System (OHSAS 18001), and health and safety improvement goals.
The Safety Pillar Lead for Center Line Global Source Warehouse and Operations Manager position will report to the Plant Manager and be responsible for, but not limited to: implementing EHS training programs and training assessments to ensure required training is identified and conducted, conducting regular audits of EHS processes and necessary follow up to ensure compliance and advise plant leadership and corporate EHS staff of findings, analyze injury/illness experience including ergonomics, identify/track injury correlation, determine root causes, implement corrective action and communicate this information to plant leadership and corporate EHS. The Safety Pillar Lead will support new equipment programs at the concept stage to ensure that EHS design specifications and regulations are included. Manage routine safety reports including data acquisition, documentation, record keeping, monitoring, review, and approval. Coordinate communication of EHS regulatory inspection activity with plant leadership. Lead EHS projects to improve EHS key performance metrics and support the implementation and maintenance of the plant's safety management system to meet OHSAS 18001 and WCM Safety Pillar requirements. The position requires the ideal candidate to be a champion in team building and leading change by following World Class Logistics methodology.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Logistics, Finance, Material Handling, Industrial Hygiene or Manufacturing Engineering
  • Must have 5+ years Health and Safety, Distribution/logistics experience
  • Ability for continuous improvement in a leadership role in operational KPI's
  • Proven communication skills within numerous levels of an organization
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master's degree
  • Knowledge of World Class Manufacturing/World Class Logistics
  • Exposure to WCM/WCL audits process, ability to provide an Executive Summary and business case as required
