The Quality organization is currently seeking a highly skilled, solutions-oriented Quality Supervisor professional to join the Quality team at Belvidere Assembly Plant in Belvidere, Illinois. The Quality Supervisor is responsible for managing the quality verification process as well as duties responsible to the vehicle ship line process within the Belvidere Assembly facility. The selected individual will have experience in managing cross-functionally and possess a broad knowledge of the entire automotive engineering, manufacturing and quality landscape

Job responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Achieve timely completion of containment corrective actions (Performance action notices)
  • Collaborate with Subject Matter Experts and utilize problem solving tools in day-to-day operations to drive issue resolution
  • Provide technical liaison support between Engineering, Quality, Production and Product Design departments
  • Represent the 'Voice of the Customer' to platform teams
  • Establish, maintain documentation of processes and train utilizing FCA's World Class Manufacturing tools
  • Embrace and execute standardization of best practices that ensure quality products
  • Document all non-conformance conditions found and identify and execute opportunities for process improvement
  • Establish clean points and maintain acceptable quality standards
  • Demonstrate a working knowledge of vehicle audit items
  • Supervise all major aspects of vehicle inspection and analyze data for comparison to daily vehicle audits
  • Supervise the auditing of new production vehicles to validate quality or identify quality concerns
  • Effective supervision of all employees as assigned
  • Management of timesheets, performance evaluations, scheduling and time off approval for bargaining unit (UAW) employees
  • Responsible for adherence to the Collective Bargaining Unit (UAW) contract provisions that affect area or employees under supervision
  • Responsible for hands-on training and coaching of salary and bargaining unit employees
  • Support the improvement of company-wide quality performance and achievement of quality & business metrics and best-in-class standing 
  • Manage ship line duties relative to build counts and production quotas
  • Managing the Quality Verification System, ensuring shift to shift consistency, and utilizing the data to drive issues to closure utilizing world class manufacturing methodologies
  • Uphold compliance to the Manufacturing Quality Governmental and Regulatory (MQGR) procedures and requirements in daily inspection processes
  • Responsible for hourly and daily ship to build reports 
  • Assist in root cause, containment, and corrective actions for all quality related issues in the manufacturing facility
  • Assist in the training of newly and re-assigned personnel
  • Hands-on training and coaching bargaining unit employees on the world class manufacturing methodologies

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree
  • Ability to translate data into visual charts, graphs, reports, etc.
  • Flexibility to work rotating shifts that include weekends and overtime as required
  • Excellent organizational, interpersonal and communication (written and oral) skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Engineering or technical degree 
  • Vehicle audit/quality experience
  • Demonstrated experience supervising hourly personnel in a manufacturing environment
  • Demonstrated ability to coach/mentor/develop team members
  • Previous experience working in a union environment
  • Previous experience with quality control systems and methodologies
  • Knowledge of engineering specs, standards and build objectives
  • Background in LEAN manufacturing systems or World Class Manufacturing
  • Proficient in Microsoft Access
