Virtual Assembly/Ergonomic Specialist Job, Auburn Hills, MI

The Virtual Assembly Specialist will work as part of a team dedicated to using digital simulation techniques to support new and existing programs. This position will be responsible for driving the optimization of manufacturing processes and workstations in a virtual setting, including ergonomic reviews. The Specialist will be required to interact with both corporate and plant personnel to prioritize various aspects of our simulation portfolio including quick simulations, detailed simulations, Manufacturing Bill of Materials (MBOM) development and ergonomic simulations. The person in this position will also support assembly plants and product launch teams during new vehicle launch and they will understand vehicle assembly and associated processes. As this position often interacts with the ergonomics team, the Virtual Assembly Specialist should be able to conduct and understand detailed ergonomic analysis.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Kinesiology, Industrial Engineering, Human Factors Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering or related field
  • Experience in performing virtual simulations (work experience, internship, and/or relevant coursework)
  • Proficient in Siemens virtual assembly products (Process Simulate, TeamCenter, Vis Mockup, Classic Jack or similar)
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office
  • Knowledge of vehicle assembly processes and standard time measurement systems

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Plant and/or launch experience
  • 1 year performing virtual simulations in a manufacturing setting
  • Ergonomic analysis experience
  • Self-starter/results-oriented individual who works well in a team and in different environments
