The Virtual Assembly Lead is responsible for managing a team of Virtual Simulation Engineers and overseeing the coordination of virtual activities from a manufacturing/process perspective for all new programs. The person in this position drives the optimization of manufacturing processes and workstations in a virtual setting. The Virtual Assembly Lead will be required to interact with both corporate and plant personnel to prioritize and deliver virtual workstation simulations. The Lead will also support assembly plants and product launch teams during new vehicle launch.

Additional responsibilities of the Virtual Assembly Lead:

  • Lead the preparation and maintenance of the Manufacturing Bill of Materials (MBOM)
  • Coordinate station and component level simulations using Process Simulate or Classic Jack for all required stations
  • Coordinate preparation for digital scroll documents and support for all programs
  • Provide technical support for pre-launch meetings as required
  • Support the implementation of Pilot Operations Digital Lab
  • Lead all activities associated with benchmarking the latest in virtual tools and technologies
  • Prepare and monitor purchase requisitions and orders
  • Maintain and report monthly budget for team

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's in Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Ergonomics, Human Factors Engineering or related discipline
  • 5+ years' experience applying digital manufacturing and virtual vehicle assembly analyses in a manufacturing setting
  • Proficient in Siemens virtual assembly products (Process Simulate, Team Center, Classic Jack, Vis Mockup, etc.)
  • Ability to provide technical training in virtual tools and processes
  • Experience in the implementation of Lean manufacturing principles
  • Highly proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
  • Strong competence for preparing and delivering presentations to all levels of the organization
  • Familiarity with the development of standardized work and use of standard time data
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously with demonstrated capability to drive bottom line results
  • Self-starter/results-oriented individual who works well in a team environment
  • Willing to work extended hours supporting current launch activities as needed; travel less than 10%

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Advanced degree
  • Experience in a supervisory role
  • Certification in MODAPTS, MTM or other standard data system
