The Throughput and Simulation Planner is responsible for providing direction and collecting data for simulation engineers for building of simulation models in the General Assembly division that predict throughput for new program launches and modifications to the existing programs. A qualified candidate will study the plant equipment layouts, gather all the pertinent data required for simulation in order to build a model to accurately identify bottleneck areas and guide the launch team to the right areas for throughput improvements. The Planner will collect actual plant downtime data using FIS for the simulation inputs and maintain up to date documentation for the actual data and the data sources used for each model. The Planner will be responsible for continuous updates of FCA Global Data Input Sheet for all the existing equipment in FCA using company databases such as FIS and TMS.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree
  • 2+ years of experience working for automotive assembly plants
  • Experience in developing, reading and understanding technical drawings and layouts
  • Experience in the maintenance aspects of the equipment
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Understand and interpret simulation models for medium to large-sized simulation projects
  • Knowledge of all the inputs required to build an accurate simulation model
  • Ability to work with others on project timelines and resources to successfully implement complex projects
  • Must be self-motivated, customer-driven team player, able to develop close customer relations to best understand requirements and meet tight deadlines
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications (Excel and PowerPoint)

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of experience working for automotive General Assembly plants
  • Experience working with Microsoft Access database
  • Experience with Visual Basic programming language
  • Ability to use FIS to gather the downtime data for simulation inputs
  • Knowledge of FIS to validate data regularly for the FCA Input Sheet
  • Experience working in one of the three centers within FCA: Body-in-White, Paint or Trim Chassis
  • Final Knowledge of the common equipment used across FCA and have knowledge of the maintenance aspects of the equipment
