FCA is searching for Technical Experts in all Transmission Engineering areas at various levels. This includes: Technical Specialists, Senior Technical Specialists, Technical Fellows and Senior Technical Fellows in the following areas: Hydraulics/controls, pumps, bearings, shifting systems, gear design, torque converters, shafts and structures for automatic transmissions and driveline. The successful candidates will be responsible for leading design and development of their specific discipline with the ability of developing clean sheet designs as well as proposing solutions for quality/warranty, cost reduction, increased capability, and vehicle architectural changes. These positions will require the individual to train other technical experts in their discipline. The candidate will also be required to create, develop and maintain best common practice technical infrastructure documents.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering by accredited ABET university or ABET equivalent; other technical degrees in the specific area of relevant specialty expertise may be considered
  • 7 years of experience in automotive engineering
  • 5 years of experience in one, or a combination of one or more: Hydraulics/controls, pumps, bearings, shifting systems, gear design, torque converters, shafts and structures for automatic transmissions and driveline
  • Working knowledge of all transmission architectures (CVT, DDCT, manual, planetary automatic, hybrids, etc.)
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, ability to present to director level management

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master's degree or Ph.D. in Engineering with 10 years of experience in specialty
  • Authored globally recognized technical papers including author of patents within specialty
