The Technical Accounting Senior Analyst is responsible for providing technical accounting guidance and support for FCA and subsidiaries on various complex accounting areas under both US GAAP and IFRS, such as; revenue recognition, multiple element arrangements, embedded leases, and variable interest entities. The Technical Accounting Senior Analyst will assist with the preparation of technical accounting position papers for significant business transactions and commercial contracts, including research and evaluation of the appropriate accounting treatment under both US GAAP and IFRS. This role monitors the activities of all accounting standard setting bodies including the FASB and IASB. He or she provides support to the managers and senior managers in communicating identified issues, new accounting impacts and other matters to senior management of both FCA US, LLC and FCA Italy, S.P.A. This position participates in reviews with internal management and external auditors. Works on special projects and technical accounting research on various topics, as assigned, which may include but not limited to, coordination of the implementation of new accounting guidance. The Analyst prepares and gives training, as well as, on the job training to others within the Technical Accounting, Corporate Accounting and other Finance teams.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting/Finance; if no Bachelor's degree in Accounting/Finance, must have a Master's degree in Business Administration (MBA) or Accounting designation
  • Must be a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or Chartered Accountant (CA)
  • Must have a minimum of 5 years of combined public accounting (Big 4 or large regional accounting firm preferred) and private industry accounting experience
  • Must be proficient in Microsoft Office Applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)
  • Practical application and use of IFRS and US GAAP, including demonstrated ability to research and document technical accounting issues and resolutions

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master's degree in Accounting or Finance
  • Strong PC skills including Microsoft Office Suite
  • Audit experience
  • Experience with SOX and internal controls
  • Strong written and oral communication skills with an ability to translate complex accounting topics to non-finance business partners
  • Experience working on teams, including cross-functional teams and accountability for getting things done
  • Ability to work independently and adapt to on- demand projects as they arise
  • Ability to be flexible and adaptable in working style to effectively manage changes
