The Tax Accounting Manager is responsible for comprehensively and accurately reporting all income tax related matters and maintaining the associated internal controls. She/he is also responsible for the following: (a) ensuring the quarterly and annual income tax provisions are timely and accurately prepared in accordance with the relevant US GAAP, SEC, IFRS and other authoritative guidance related to accounting for income taxes; (b) identifying, researching, and preparing company position papers related to income tax accounting issues, in cooperation with the Technical Accounting team and Office of Tax Affairs ("OTA"), under both US GAAP and IFRS for discussion and review with senior management and external auditors; (c) preparing the tax footnote and other related tax disclosures, in coordination with External Reporting; (d) managing all internal reporting for tax accounting, including preparation of monthly income tax forecast and annual budget/business plan submission (including current receivable/payable, deferred tax assets/liabilities, income tax provision, and cash flows); (e) ensuring that SOX 404 controls are appropriate, properly monitored and maintained and effective, including working with the Accounting Operations and Technical Accounting teams in development of policies and procedures to minimize accounting for income tax accounting risk; (f) providing oversight and guidance to all foreign subsidiaries and affiliates for all income tax accounting and reporting; (g) managing the assessment of accounting and reporting for uncertain tax positions, permanent reinvestment of foreign earnings, deferred tax asset valuation allowances; (h) coordinating the preparation of tax related balance sheet account reconciliations and analysis, including deferred tax reconciliations and proofs; (i) mentoring and developing Income Tax Accounting staff, in both technical competency and leadership; (j) maintaining technical expertise, developing staff knowledge and clearly, effectively communicating results and recommendations to management.

Basic Qualifications:
  • Minimum of a Bachelor of Science degree in Finance, Accounting, or Business Administration
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in a multinational corporate or public accounting firm
  • Experience working with ASC 740 involving both domestic and international operations
  • Comprehensive knowledge and technical expertise involving all relevant guidance applicable to Accounting for Income Taxes
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Master of Science degree in Business Administration, Master of Science degree in Accounting/Finance, Master of Science degree in Taxation, or a Juris Doctor degree
  • Strongly prefer experience in IAS 12/IFRS
  • Experience with US Federal and state tax regulations
  • Competency and/or proficiency in using tax compliance and tax accounting software applications
  • Strong organizational and interpersonal skills
  • Highly efficient, organized, reliable, and resourceful professional with practical experience and ability to understand process
  • Strong analytical skills and ability to exercise judgment
  • Ability to communicate/present issues in a clear and effective manner across all levels throughout the company and external auditors
