The Supplier Quality Dimensional Technical Support Engineer will be responsible for managing and coordinating dimensional activities. The Engineer will provide on-site launch support at FCA Assembly Plants ensuring launch readiness leading up to and including program post-launch. Responsibilities will include ensuring part availability for the QAF builds, launch support and supplier and metrology interface. The Engineer will coordinate issues from QAF build issues and part validation, root cause analysis, coordinate dimensional Cp/Cpk improvement on top warranty suppliers and ensure lessons learned are applied across programs. The successful candidate will interpret released engineering dimensional specifications and standards for supply base and BICEEP team members, perform data analysis, often organizing data from multiple sources to identify top issues and verify effectiveness of corrective actions implemented, and proactively monitor trend charts and support cross-functional teams to drive variation reduction of critical product and process characteristics.

Job responsibilities included but are not limited:

  • Plan, prioritize, set goals, and manage multiple projects in a technical support environment
  • Protect product capability by tracking, analyzing and providing feedback to supply base, assembly plants and BICEEP team members to ensure eCMM data requirements and sponsorships are met
  • Provide expert technical leadership regarding dimensional activities and deliverables, coordinate and ensure PQP (Part Qualification Process) deliverables for Meisterbock and QAF build events are met by providing clear direction to supply base and BICEEP members during launch
  • Deliver standardized status report on launch readiness, product capability performance, and eCIMS performance to the Industrial head leaders

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor of Science in Engineering from an ABET accredited University or related Bachelor's degree along with 5 years' commensurate experience
  • Minimum 3 years work experience in quality, engineering, or manufacturing
  • Solid knowledge in GD&T, statistics and process control
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and tasks
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills
  • Proficient interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively in a cross-functional team
  • Proficient in using Microsoft Office
  • Creative problem solving ability and a results orientation
  • Knowledge analysis systems such as eCMM, NCT's, etc.
  • Data analysis skills (e.g. Minitab or equivalent statistical package)

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering or Industrial Engineering from an ABET accredited University
  • Familiar with WCM methodology
  • Prior problem solving skillset - Green Belt, Black Belt Certifications
