The Supplier Capacity & Throughput Logistics Specialist will be responsible for supporting the Supplier Capacity & Throughput Initiative which involves assisting in depth capacity and throughput analysis at "high risk" supplier locations. This will require extensive travel based on supplier locations. The Specialist will be required to be on-site at the supplier location to support lean manufacturing activities with a cross functional team consisting of Manufacturing, Industrial and Maintenance Engineers. Responsibilities include value stream mapping and cycle time verification in order to determine supplier's "overall equipment effectiveness". Through the aid of a capacity analysis tool, constraints and bottlenecks in the manufacturing system will be determined followed by cross-functional root cause analysis and implementation of corrective actions in order to improve OEE. The Specialist will be required to identify and assist in improving supplier manufacturing operations, systems and procedures to reach a level of sustainability.

Basic Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or equivalent degree from an ABET Accredited college or university
  • 5 years of experience in manufacturing/automotive industry
  • Experienced in logistic system development and implementation
  • Excellent leadership skills are required
  • Quality / new model launch experience
  • Must have general problem solving / root cause analysis experience
  • Strong verbal and written communication / presentation skills
  • Proficient in Excel and PowerPoint
  • Strong interpersonal skills with ability to work in a team environment
  • Experience analyzing internal and external quality data
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Degree in Supply Chain Management / Logistics
  • Full understanding of process audits and PDR activities
  • New model launch and program management experience
  • Lean manufacturing and work cell optimization activities
  • Understanding of quality methods and tools such as control plans, SWI's, EBSC, FMEA's, floor layouts
  • Basic knowledge of statistics and data collection
  • Understanding of World Class Manufacturing
  • Cross functional work experience with manufacturing, suppliers, SQA, engineering, logistics, purchasing and supply
