The Manufacturing Engineering Torque & Core Technology Supervisor is responsible for leading the development and revision of automotive manufacturing torque tool equipment and processes. The person in this role ensures that standards are implemented and followed in every aspect of the model launch from the project's inception and design all the way through implementation and assembly. The Supervisor will manage ME projects, supervise union represented Engineers within UAW contract requirements and satisfy Manufacturing Quality Assurance System requirements. The Supervisor will interface with manufacturing, maintenance, various engineering groups, finance and purchasing. The candidate must possess superior written and verbal communication skills as well as exemplary organizational skills. The successful candidate will demonstrate the ability to establish clear, achievable goals for their direct reports, and to establish and maintain a system to support their reports in achievement of those goals.

Basic Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree
  • 3+ years of experience in torque
  • 5+ years of experience in general assembly or equivalent 
  • Supervisor, team lead, or manager experience preferably in a unionized environment
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to write tooling procedures, standards and specifications
  • Ability to lead cross functional teams
  • Ability to interact with all levels of management and labor
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering
  • Assembly plant experience with good overall knowledge of general assembly
  • Experience in electrical test and development, and wheel alignment process
  • Knowledge of World Class Manufacturing (WCM)
