FCA is creating a new transmission controls organization that is responsible for developing the controls algorithms and software for FCA's future transmissions. This is an excellent opportunity for engineers interested in helping build a new organization from the ground up.

The Purchased Transmissions Supervisor is responsible for providing technical leadership in specifying, and ensuring the delivery of controls for FCA's Purchased Transmissions. The Supervisor is also expected to model positive leadership behaviors and mentor engineers to help the organization grow in capability and throughput.

We are looking for a highly motivated and energetic leader to lead the team in managing FCA's purchased transmissions technologies. In this role, the Supervisor is responsible of leading a team who manage transmission content from Aisin & ZF, overseeing/managing the development and implementation of Purchased Transmissions controls.

A successful candidate should be familiar with the following:

  • SIL, MIL, and HIL
  • Integrated powertrain control (torque characterization, engine/transmission interactions, powertrain optimization strategies)
  • Driving strategy
  • Shift controls
  • Driveline system control
  • Diagnostics and vehicle electrical systems 

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering, as accredited by ABET or ABET
  • Minimum of 8 years of total work experience, with a minimum 5 years applying transmission controls expertise
  • Knowledge in Program management
  • Strong people skills: Positive 360 interactions & strong communication, written and oral
  • Knowledge in Transmission Purchased Transmissions
  • Safety / Knowledgeable in ISO26262
  • Demonstrated potential to lead, inspire and deliver
  • Adept at communicating technical issues -- both verbally and written

Preferred Qualifications:

  • MBA and/or Master degree in Engineering, as accredited by ABET or ABET equivalent is preferred. Other undergraduate level technical degrees in the specific area of relevant specialty expertise may be considered
  • Effective experienced based or analytical problem solving ability
