Supervisor - OBD Certification Documentation Job, Auburn Hills, MI

The OBD Certification Documentation Supervisor will direct up to eight engineers in the production of On-Board Diagnostics Certification Documents as required by the California Air Resources Board, the EPA and virtually all countries with similar requirements for gasoline, diesel and hybrid applications. Additionally, the Supervisor will direct the team in the generation of similar but thrifted documentation for every production application as part of our on-going Service Diagnostics initiative. The Supervisor will direct the maintenance of all in-house databases used for the generation of all OBD Certification Documents. The Supervisor will also need to direct some suppliers who generate OBD certification documentation for outside programs (such as Alfa programs) in the correct and compliant generation of said documents. Finally, the Supervisor will maintain our OBD Best Practices Documents for Certification Documentation and OBD Demonstration Testing (known as DDV).

Basic Qualifications:
  • Bachelor of Science Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Systems or Computer Engineering
  • 5+ years engineering experience in the automotive industry
  • Strong understanding of gasoline, diesel and HEV engine hardware and function with emphasis on On-Board Diagnostics
  • Experienced with Microsoft Office Suite, including Visio, Project and Access
  • Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to effectively operate both independently and as part of a team
  • Highly motivated self-starter
  • Familiar with MATLAB/SIMULINK
 Preferred Qualifications:
  • 4 or more years of automotive engineering experience in gasoline, diesel or HEV controls or On-Board Diagnostics
  • Experienced MATLAB/SIMULINK user
  • Experienced in database applications, e.g., Microsoft Access database, Oracle
