Supervisor - Noise, Vibration, & Harshness (NVH) Structures & Isolation Job, Auburn Hills, MI

The Supervisor -- NVH Structures and Isolation will lead the NVH Structures and Isolation team in the NVH Lab. This individual will be responsible for overseeing and leading testing, issue resolution, benchmarking, target setting, and decoupled development activities. This individual will interact with suppliers and engineering service providers for outside testing; participate in ride drives, meetings and work with body/chassis/powertrain teams; and diagnose prototype vehicles and provide tuning solutions. This role involves project management and leadership including training and mentoring engineers, giving presentations and review reports. The ideal candidate will have the following:

  • Experience in all aspects of NVH Lab operations, facilities, dynamo-meters, instrumentation, data acquisition and data processing a
  • Experience in FRF, a/F, P/F, TPA, Impact/Shaker testing, Stiffness and Mount/Bushing Rate tuning tests
  • Modal analysis of full vehicle, subsystems or components
  • Strong background and hands-on experience in advanced signal processing and vibro-acoustic metrics
  • Experience in LMS TestLab, Head-Artemis, CAN, etc
  • Knowledge of vibration mitigation, structural design alternatives and isolation solutions

Basic Qualifications:

  • Minimum Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering or equivalent
  • Eight years of NVH experience
  • Five years of NVH test, modeling, and/or analysis of automobiles
  • Strong vibration and acoustics background with hands on project experience
  • Team leadership and project management skills

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering or Electrical Engineering
  • Experience in automotive with NVH applications
