Senior Supplier Quality Engineer C - Engine Systems Job, Auburn Hills, MI

The Engine Systems Supplier Quality Engineer will be responsible for managing all aspects of the Supplier Quality functions. The Engineer will provide on-site launch support at suppliers' facilities to ensure launch readiness as required leading up to and including program launch. Provide on-site support at FCA assembly plants as required. Work cross functionally with Engineering, Manufacturing, and Purchasing to ensure proper designs, suppliers, and manufacturing processes are selected. The selected candidate will drive change within both plant manufacturing and component suppliers to resolve component issues, drive warranty reduction, and oversee continuous improvement efforts, ensure component suppliers' processes are robust and capable, manage key component quality milestones and lead problem solving activities with internal and external organizations.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering or Electrical Engineering from an ABET accredited university; Bachelor's degree in Aerospace/Aeronautical, Biomedical/Biomechanical/Bioengineering, Chemical, Materials, Metallurgical, or Mechatronics may also be considered
  • 4 ½ or more years of work experience in Supplier Quality, Quality, Engineering, Manufacturing, or related field
  • Ability to travel up to 40% within the NAFTA region
  • Proficient in using Microsoft Office Suite software

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master's degree in Engineering or Business Administration
  • Quality certification
  • 3.0 GPA
  • Green Belt or Black Belt skills (Red X/Shainin)
  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects and tasks
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively in a cross-functional team
  • Creative problem solving ability and a results orientation
  • Comfortable with complex technical analysis
