The Senior SAP Architect will be responsible for the definition and implementation roadmap of the FCA NAFTA SAP Architectural Roadmap Definition.
 
Job responsibilities include but not limited to:
  • Evaluation of SAP product evolutions and determination/recommendation on how we can leverage to improve our platform for business value
  • Reviewing application upgrades as necessary in coordination with the operations team
  • Provide a long-term vision for the department platforms considering changes in technology within the context of current implementations and global roadmap.
  • Working closely with business leadership and their teams, assess business needs, acquire product and business process knowledge, and use the information to influence key technical decisions to deliver the best solution
  • Participate in translating business requirements into implementation design, requiring a keen interest in understanding our business drivers, goals, constraints and pain points to design effective solutions
  • Communicate critical technical choices, specify requirements and constraints for design and implementation, and provide input for scoping the level of effort for development projects
  • Lead the design of multiple simultaneous projects. Project will include regional and global project initiatives, size range from days to man years
  • Provide architectural leadership to development teams, and serve as the primary application architect resource for the department
  • Provide practical plans to implement architectural changes
  • Analyze application design and performance metrics and propose improvements and redesigns
  • Defines how the applications interact with each other, with databases, servers, and external systems to provide the complete functional solution to business requirements. This role also defines the technology stack, development standards, and APIs

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelors in computer related field such as Computer Science, Information Systems or Management Information Systems
  • 5 years' experience leading technical teams
  • Minimum 15 years of SAP experience with progressive growth in design and implementation roles
  • Direct design experience with multiple SAP modules primarily focus areas of Material Management, Finance Modules and Business Intelligence
  • Translating business process requirements into SAP solutions
  • Architectural planning and development in the SAP product ecosystem
  • Multiple SAP Life Cycle implementations
  • 15 years of IT experience across varied customers and industries, preference automotive or similar industry
  • Business understanding of the purchasing and finance business processes

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master's degree
  • SAP Certifications
  • Deep understanding of SAP products and competencies related to UI development, workflows, BPM, data warehousing, reporting and BASIS
  • Usage of non-SAP products and technologies in the areas of Portal, Data warehousing, ETL, Mobility, Integration middleware & SAP Security
  • Deep understanding of the network components and network security
  • Excellent communication skills, oral and written with the ability translate complex technical strategies into terms that are easily understood
  • Ability to think strategically
  • Ability to translate a long-term strategy into a series of evolutionary steps
  • Understanding of SAP design principles and ABAP programming standards
  • Ability to work in a global environment
  • Experience in a HANA environment
  • Consultative team player that can assess conflicting view points and opinions to define alternatives and move the team forward to a consensus
  • Organizational skills
  • Ability to interact with all levels in the organization from developer through executive
