The Vehicle Line Senior Manager (VLM) focuses on Product/Process readiness for Manufacturing by leading Design for Assembly/Manufacturing activities. The VLM provides the Manufacturing Interface to all product teams on several vehicle segments throughout the Product lifecycle. The VLM is the key representative for Manufacturing to ensure the voice of Manufacturing within the Product team in terms of design, build feasibility, and standards are aligned to current Manufacturing Processes. The VLM coordinates Manufacturing input to Program, Design and Development on a timely and consistent basis. The VLM guarantees the process development and industrialization of the main product plan actions in compliance with the milestones of process development, World Class Manufacturing (WCM) and World Class Technology (WCT) methodologies.  

  • Ensure product and process issues impacting the industrial plan are integrated into the planning and execution process
  • Participates in all necessary activities for the achievement of Quality goals and ensures the introduction of planned process changes within the specific program timeline, for current and carryover models
  • Ensure that Bulletins and CCDs receive appropriate Manufacturing input and execution, including the timely transfer of funding
  • Contribute to define and respect the pilot and production ramp up curve settled for all the product developments and to drive resolution of product and process problems impacting the industrial Plan

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in an Engineering or other relevant technical discipline
  • 10+ years of experience in manufacturing
  • Experience managing, supervising and/or leading a team
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Excel and PowerPoint
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to interface with all levels of the enterprise and across multiple organizations
  • Ability to travel and work weekends/holidays in support of product launches

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master's degree in Engineering
  • Knowledge of World Class Manufacturing (WCM) methodologies
  • Strong problem solving and project management skills
