We're looking for a strong leader who will be responsible for all On-Board Diagnostics compliance planning and certification activities for its current and future vehicles. The On-Board Diagnostics Certification Leader is expected to establish productive working relationships, founded on trust and transparency, with our internal and external partners. Sound judgment, excellent communication skills and the ability to challenge the status quo, drive decisions through consensus and influence change are a must.

Job responsibilities include but not limited to:

  • Inspire, grow and develop a team of highly effective supervisors and engineers
  • Ensure that all regulatory requirements are fulfilled; manage the OBD compliance planning for all NAFTA applications, generation of all Legislative Diagnostics SRD's and RCN's as well as the verification of all Legislative Diagnostics software and calibration
  • Approval of all certification documentation required by the California Air Resources Board, the EPA, Europe and all other countries that require OBD certification documentation
  • Serve as California Air Resources Board (CARB) interface on all OBD matters
  • Proactively communicate new regulatory requirements and technical requirements to internal stakeholders 

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor of Science in Mechanical, Electrical or Systems Engineering from an accredited university
  • 10+ years of experience in on-board diagnostics, powertrain controls or powertrain program management
  • 5+ years of experience managing engineers
  • Demonstrated experience leading major initiatives across many functional areas
  • Extensive knowledge and experience working with OBD regulatory requirements
  • Proficient project management skills
  • Ability to multi-task, prioritize work and function in a fast-paced, collaborative environment
