The Senior Manager - Global Connectivity Service Delivery Platform will ensure that connected services are developed efficiently and effectively. Connected Services include any feature or service that requires connectivity to the vehicle including safety and security, navigation and driving behavior, personalization, service retention, fleet services, shared mobility, and music and media. It includes the monetization of anonymized and user specific data depending upon value added and permissions granted by the user. It also includes the development of connected capabilities for internal organizational users including quality, supply chain, fleet operations, and others. These services can be delivered in a variety of ways including brought in phone, telematics control boxes, and embedded connectivity into the radio. The Manager will be help guide the appropriate solution to the commercial needs and desired customer experience and will help FCA grow the value proposition for connected services. This position is not accountable for the broader electrical architecture of our vehicles or the core radio functionality. However, the Manager will work very closely with those teams to ensure they understand connectivity needs and are engineering to support said need. This role is also accountable for global coordination of product development activities. This role is not accountable to manage the development resources outside of North America, however it is the functional lead and accountable to ensure consistency in processes, testing protocols, qualification methods, and global architecture. Job responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Manage product development projects specifically for connected services
  • Effectively balance workload across his/her engineering and qualification team to deliver programs on time, on budget, and to customer experience and quality expectation
  • Evaluate and resolves technical feasibility and ensure design is optimized for functional performance, customer experience, and future upgrade flexibility
  • Seek automation, emulation, and simulation techniques to ensure robust delivery and improve resource efficiency
  • Migration of the team execution methods to more agile design and development methods
  • Help improve development processes by ensuring key steps are template and requirements are robustly defined in order to ensure clarity of development and minimization of change requests
  • Work with other departments to establish a design, technology, product development and vendor strategy that provides flexibility and growth opportunity
  • Work with the marketing team to ensure services and features are well understand and communicated appropriately 

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, System Engineering, or like disciplines
  • 10 years of experience across a myriad of competencies including app development, electrical engineering, cloud services, and program management
  • Understanding of standard operating systems and development frameworks in order to input evaluation criteria to ensure flexibility
  • Strong background in program management and ability to infuse efficiency via automation and agile design
  • Experience implementing quality improvement tools like simulation, emulation, and automation of required test cases
  • Exceptional communication skills and the ability to build solid partnerships both internally and externally due to the need to work across suppliers and multiple internal work teams (product design office, information technology, electrical engineering, and finance)

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master's degree
  • Basic knowledge of marketing in order to anticipate the marketing team's needs to properly communicate the features his/her group is developing (i.e., claims that can be made and accurately depicted product descriptions)
  • Expertise in planning, prioritizing, and goal setting including the ability to manage multiple projects, determine project urgency, create detailed action plans, and organize schedules, people and tasks
  • Familiarity in working within global environments with successful track record in working cross-culturally
  • Experience working in a flat organizational with lean resources thereby requiring strong cross functional collaboration skills
