The Senior Buyer for the electrical components, cabin electronics, audio and telematics Biceep alignment is part of the Mopar Purchasing department and aligned to the production Biceep team. This position is responsible for procurement and related activities in the ongoing business requirements of our serving our customers (internal and external), and requires the ability to work cross functionally with multiple disciplines including the Campaign Management Team, Mopar Marketing, Mopar Supply Chain, Mopar Service Parts Analysts, and our Production Purchasing counterparts. This Position will also work closely with the Mopar global counterparts in all regions and requires the ability to analyze information and produce creative, customer-oriented solutions to unique challenges focused on improving Quality, Cost, and Delivery. The Senior Buyer responsibilities include execution of Request for Quotations (RFQ's), negotiation of supplier pricing proposals, placing purchase orders within deadlines and program timing, support resolution of delivery issues including VORs (Vehicles Off-Road), manage strategic supplier issues both commercial and non-commercial, identify and bring to fruition cost savings opportunities, and identification and implementation of process improvement ideas for Mopar. The successful candidate will manage all aspects of the supplier relationship, including new model contract issuance, contract maintenance, achievement of annual cost savings targets, revenue generation targets, and development of Mopar unique commodity strategies and suppliers.

 

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree from an AACSB or ABET accredited university in Business, Marketing, Finance, Management, Supply Chain or related field
  • Minimum 4.5 years' experience in purchasing or a related field
  • Ability to build and maintain strong relationships
  • Must be well organized, self-motivated, capable of managing conflict, and resourceful managing complex assignments
  • Must be comfortable in a fast-paced environment
  • Results oriented and ability to lead cross-functional and global teams
  • Strong negotiation skills and the ability to think and act strategically
  • Strong communication skills required; must be comfortable interfacing with all levels of management
  • Must be proficient using MS Office programs

Preferred Qualifications: 

  • Master's degree
