The BIW Capex Senior Buyer position ($200 M APV), is part of the Indirect Purchasing department. The Senior Buyer will manage all the commercial aspects of the equipment purchases and strategically collaborate with Manufacturing and Engineering at Chrysler and Fiat to define commodity strategies and source programs. The successful candidate will develop and present materials and data to all levels of senior management up to and including Senior Vice Presidents. The candidate will track program changes to ensure overall spend is within budgeted approval levels. He/she will manage all aspects of the supplier relationship, including contract maintenance, achievement of annual cost savings targets, and development of supplier/commodity strategies.

This role will also support the various process and procedures of the Indirect Purchasing department, while driving improvements to the organization and improving efficiency. The ideal candidate will possess the ability to multi-task; have excellent time management skills and the ability to set priorities independently. This position requires strong leadership, ability to work at a fast pace, and effectively communicate to upper management. This position reports directly to the Capex Purchasing Manager.


Basic Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Supply Chain Management, or related field or strong business skills and a degree in Information Technology or Computer Science
  • Minimum 7 years of commercial or technical business experience (for example purchasing, finance, logistics, supply chain, IT etc.)
  • Self-motivated / sense of ownership
  • Strong communication and customer focus
  • Must be organized and possess the ability to multi-task, prioritize, and adapt
  • Strong use of MS Office suite
 Preferred Qualifications:
  • MBA preferred
  • Strong leadership skills
  • Purchasing experience
