The Development Lead for Seat Comfort is responsible for leading a team of engineers to execute the design, development, launch and production support of high quality, cost and weight efficient seats. The selected candidate will lead the comfort team members with the program development and support the VOP feasibility to seat complete. The Development Lead will continue to develop and maintain Seat Complete Comfort Loop Development Process within the team and other regions and develop and sign-off on technical descriptions to support cost roll-ups with regards to foam design/seat complete. He/she will also review and sign-off on test plans and results, deliver source package content, support technical cost reduction activities at the seat complete level and support the program PC for all comfort matters. The Development Lead will conduct appropriate project related benchmarking activities, lead UR level design reviews, monitor team work load and plan resource allocation with DR and assist DR with PLM processes for team.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering from an ABET accredited university (or equivalent)
  • Minimum 8 years of experience combined in the areas of seat design, seat integration, testing and development; including phases from concept development to product launch
  • Strong technical knowledge of seat foam, trim, structure and mechanism design considerations
  • Strong technical knowledge of seat and occupant packaging considerations, regulatory requirements and third party rating criteria
  • Demonstrated communication skills and ability to convey technical information for understanding to various audiences (management/non-technical)
  • MS Office skills (PowerPoint, Word, Excel)
  • TeamCenter/CAD capability (NX)

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Bio Mechanical Engineering or HMI/Ergonomics from an ABET accredited university (or equivalent)
  • Demonstrated team leadership capabilities
  • Experience with adjacent areas of vehicle integration related to seats (body adaptation, electrical integration etc.)
