The FCA Quality organization is currently seeking a solutions-oriented Reliability Specialist to join the Quality team at the FCA US Headquarters and Tech Center in Auburn Hills, MI. The Reliability Specialist will play an instrumental role in the improvement of FCA's powertrain reliability and customer satisfaction. The position will be responsible for powertrain areas including engine, transmission, driveline and electrified propulsion.

Specific Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Develop proactive reliability tools to improve failure mode avoidance strategy
  • Train and coach quality and reliability engineer's reliability disciplines including risk assessment, DFMEA, DEVP&R, Reliability Growth and Weibull Analysis
  • Lead harmonization of key reliability KPIs with other regions
  • Lead standardization and documentation of Quality and Reliability procedures using standard work instructions
  • Perform statistical analysis for warranty prediction
  • Develop and implement techniques for effective testing and sample size selection
  • Report Quality and Reliability scorecard results to senior management on monthly basis

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in engineering or mathematics / statistics from an ABET accredited college or university (other 4-year engineering degrees in combination with relevant experience may be considered)
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in product quality and reliability engineering
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills, including the ability to present to various types of audiences, at various levels of management

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Certified Reliability Engineer
  • Design for Six Sigma or Robust Engineering certification (Black Belt, Green Belt)
  • Familiarity with quality measurement methodology, warranty analysis, and third party metrics (Consumer Reports, J.D. Power)
  • Experience working with or leading diverse teams (e.g. global, cross-functional, etc.)
  • Experience working with powertrain hardware, calibration and OBD
