The Project Coordinator - Powertrain Controls is responsible for leading Powertrain projects and the cross functional teams that are dedicated to the design, development and verification for a given project. The Project Coordinator will chair project kickoff workshops and maintain the project plan, schedule, scope alignment, milestones, and defined deliverables along with hardware and software release timing. Support every aspect of product development life cycle plan and integrate feature content development including hardware, controls, and software. Ensure testing of software changes are completed per the plan. Lead teams to ensure technical risks and issues have a clear mitigation and resolution path. Lead and manage issues to closure within a given time frame. Communicate effectively the flow of information between all project stakeholders. Engage management as necessary to ensure project risks and issues are conveyed. Lead and monitor supplier progress for all deliverables. Monitor and control project activities on a regular basis. Present reviews to management on program status, risk management and issue resolutions.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor of Science in Mechanical, Electrical, Aerospace, Computer Engineering, Applied Physics, or other related Engineering degree
  • Minimum 3 years' experience in a powertrain automotive environment
  • Knowledge of engine / transmission controls, software and calibration
  • Strong PC skills required; including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project, Outlook and Lotus Notes
  • Must be able to interact with all levels of management
  • Strong organization skills, ability to follow projects/tasks to completion

Preferred Qualifications:

  • PMI certification
  • Automotive industry project management experience
