The FCA Quality organization is currently seeking a solutions-oriented Quality Reliability Engineer (Transmissions Purchased/Legacy) to join the Quality team at the Chrysler Headquarters and Tech Center in Auburn Hills, MI. The Quality Reliability Engineer (Transmissions Purchased/Legacy) will be instrumental in ensuring powertrain quality, reliability and customer satisfaction for our Purchased and Legacy transmission programs.

Specific Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Responsible for the reliability for Purchased and Legacy transmission families
  • Identification of high risk components and systems
  • Assist in development and facilitation of DFMEAs and DVP&Rs
  • Assist in identification of Design for Six Sigma projects
  • Develop and own reliability test plans up through launching a product to market
  • Assist in revisions to test schedules and reliability methods to support technology changes
  • Own and report Reliability Key Process Indicator to management
  • Support engineering in root cause analysis of development issues linked to the reliability test plan
  • Approve design related change notices for program
  • Be an active part of transmission cross-functional teams

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, reliability, or statistics, from an ABET accredited college or university (other 4-year engineering degrees in combination with relevant experience may be considered)
  • Basic understanding of the automotive industry and the various systems that are part of modern automobiles
  • Basic computing skills covering standard office software
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills, including presenting complex material to various types of audiences

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Knowledge in design, development, validation, manufacturing or supplier quality of transmissions
  • Design for Six Sigma belt certification
  • CRE from ASQ
