The Advanced Vision and Sensing Technologies - New Feature Development Engineer will develop new features related to the growing arena of automotive camera systems alongside biometric and environmental sensors. The candidate will assess feature requests relating to these technologies, and recommend technical solutions to meet them. Projects deemed technically feasible may require demonstrations to further prove out their feasibility, which the candidate would be responsible to manage. Once the project successfully passes the feasibility stage, the Engineer will then feed the decision process to apply the technology to particular vehicles, and may move with the project in to vehicle development. The role provides an excellent opportunity for people interested in future technology, and seek exposure throughout the organization.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent from an ABET accredited university
  • Five years of relevant engineering experience
  • One year of experience with vision/sensing systems
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent problem solving skills
  • Proficient use of MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)
  • Electronic systems design/analysis
  • Familiarity with CAN/LIN or other data and networking protocols
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Master of Science degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering from an ABET accredited university
  • Three years of product development experience
  • Experience in digital data transmission, wireless technologies, video compression, and networking
  • Capable of conceptualizing, defining, and implementing end to end systems and architectures across embedded hardware / software
  • Creative problem solving ability and results driven
  • Experience in setting and assessing customer (internal/external) level requirements
