The Press Mechanical Engineering Manager is responsible for leading the advanced equipment engineering planning, strategy and installation team. The person in this position will manage projects to meet engineering equipment strategy needs for Press Shop and Dies in the NAFTA region. Responsibilities include focusing on Life Cycle Cost (LCC) and vertical integration of equipment and processes to meet customer throughput, quality, and cost needs and targets as well as equipment engineering strategy revolving around capacity improvement needs and performance improvement strategies to address losses as depicted in the Cost Deployment of each location. The Manager works locations to coordinate the strategic integration of major equipment capital actions while maximizing the plants ability to meet corporate capacity demands.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in Stamping, Assembly and/or Powertrain operations
  • Experience in strategic planning, PentaSap or similar, press loading and project writing
  • Knowledge of World Class Manufacturing (WCM) or the capacity to develop
  • Excellent verbal/written communication and record keeping skills to manage this collaborative assignment
  • Ability to work independently
  • Ability to pursue through data justification new processes and procedures to improve division performance
  • Demonstrated leadership ability and program management skills
  • Ability to travel as needed, occasionally for protracted periods of time

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Degree in Engineering 
  • Project management experience strongly desired
