The Proactive Sensing Data Analyst will be responsible for advancing development of the Proactive Sensing tools and methodology related to vehicle safety and compliance. The selected candidate will work with/lead cross-functional teams (e.g., Proactive Sensing Screening, ICT BA, Product Investigations, Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality, Service) to determine data analysis techniques that identify potential product issues during preliminary technical reviews (screening) of product alerts. The analyst will also be responsible for validating performance of methods and tools to identify applicability to process and future enhancements. Ability to describe complex theory at various levels is required as the candidate will be responsible for communicating methods developed to leadership, Proactive Sensing Screening, and ICT teams through presentations and process documentation.

Basic Qualifications:
  • A minimum of a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical, Mechanical, or related Engineering field from an ABET accredited university, other degrees with relevant equivalent experience may be considered
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in vehicle/automotive engineering
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Ability to compile data using multiple sources and formulate conclusions/recommendations, all in a time sensitive manner
  • Comfort conducting and communicating deep dives in data analysis
  • Knowledge of FMVSS/CMVSS regulations
  • Technical background in powertrain, emissions, chassis, active chassis, restraints, or electrical and electrical architecture
  • Background knowledge in engineering release, manufacturing, service, or quality
  • Background in root cause techniques (Shainin and/or DFSS background)
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to team with Safety Office, Quality, and ICT stakeholders on a regular basis
  • Ability to navigate and interpret advanced analytic outputs and visualization
  • Experience in signal analysis utilizing various software packages and techniques
  • Familiarity in unstructured data analysis and applicable software packages
