The Powertrain Virtual Analysis (CAE) Engineer is responsible for performing Durability and NVH assessment of transmissions, axles and driveline components and systems using advanced virtual analysis tools. The Engineer will work closely with transmissions/driveline release groups, powertrain integration, suppliers, offshore CAE teams and other functional groups to proactively identify issues, develop solutions and meet program performance objectives and timings. The Engineer will follow established methodologies, identify future improvements in virtual analysis capability and document new analysis procedures. The chosen candidate will use commercial CAE tools such as, Hypermesh, Simlab, Meshworks, ANSA, Abaqus, Nastran and Fatigue software.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Master's degree in Engineering
  • 2 years of engineering experience in Virtual Analysis on automotive Powertrain components of transmissions, drivelines and axles (academic or industry)
  • Experience in using CAE software: Hypermesh, Simlab, Meshworks, Abaqus, Nastran and Fatigue tools Ncode / FEMFAT/ FeSafe
  • Knowledge of optimization
  • Knowledge of torque power flow in transmission/axle driveline
  • Ability to perform fundamental mechanical engineering calculations
  • Must be able of working independently and in teams
  • Must be able of managing multiple on-going projects and ability to coordinate projects with global teams and suppliers
  • Demonstrated problem solving and leadership skills
  • Self-motivated and have excellent written/oral communication and organizational skills
  • Ability to work unsupervised, recognize priority and get it done

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Ph.D. a plus
  • Strong analytical and technical background
  • NVH background is plus
  • Test and design experience
  • Knowledgeable of automotive engine, transmission, or drivetrain requirements and function
  • Knowledge of casting, forging, machining, general manufacturing processes and overall understanding of transmission functions (mechanical, hydraulic, etc.)
