FCA is creating a new Transmission Controls Organization that is responsible for developing the controls algorithms and software for FCA's future transmissions. This is an excellent opportunity for engineers interested in helping build a new organization from the ground up.
This posting offers opportunities in many areas of transmission controls engineering including, but not limited to:

  • Shift control
  • Shift strategy
  • Line pressure
  • Torque converter clutch control
  • Safety and diagnostics
  • Modeling of controls systems (algorithms, software, and hardware)
  • Program management and release planning

Because our organization is new, we are not encumbered by legacy engineering practices. Instead we are using industry leading controls development methodologies to deploy Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) methods as standard work.
The successful candidate for this posting will have the opportunity to develop controls technology from initial functionality design all the way to in-vehicle testing.


Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor of Science in an Engineering discipline
  • 2 years of experience; however, an advanced degree and/or academic research in a related field may count towards experience requirement
  • Experience in standard controls tools, modeling/simulation/development/testing/validation
  • Outstanding interpersonal and problem solving skills
  • A quick study, but one who is not afraid to ask for the help and support of the team
  • Will be a self-starter who can work cross-functionally with other organizations
  • Must be able to work with multiple disciplines (mechanical, electrical and controls)

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master of Science in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or a related Engineering discipline
  • An affinity for cars, trucks, and automotive technologies
  • Knowledge of "C" programming language utilized in embedded code
  • Knowledge of MATLAB / Simulink
