Powertrain Electrical -- Product Integration Engineer Job, Auburn Hills, MI

The Powertrain Electrical - Product Integration Engineer will be responsible for developing, integrating, releasing and validating a powertrain controller within a vehicle electrical system. The Engineer must manage changes to hardware, software and calibration design levels to meet customer expectations for specific design phase and eventual launch. The Engineer will ensure that FCA processes and specifications are adhered to and quality objectives are met.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor of Science in Mechanical, Electrical, Aerospace and/or Computer Engineering from an accredited university
  • Minimum 1 year of relevant experience in electrical systems or powertrain electrical systems design, development, and validation
  • Previous experience must demonstrate ability to manage multiple projects at one time
  • Must be able to work in a fast-paced multi-tasking environment and during non-traditional work hours on some occasions (including weekends)
  • Ability to improvise and adapt to changing priorities while working independently or in conjunction with fellow team members
  • Strong problem solving skills to analytically attack engineering issues
  • Good organizational skills

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Strong foundation in electrical engineering with the ability to navigate electrical schematics and utilize digital volt ohmmeters / oscilloscopes for troubleshooting Powertrain electrical and electronic systems
  • Basic understanding of electronic management systems for powertrain systems - engine, transmission or driveline as well as the fundamentals of internal combustion engines and electronic transmissions
  • Knowledge of CAN communication bus protocol and fluency in the use of CAN data acquisition tools desired
  • Prior electronics/electrical experience from military is a plus
