The CFD Engineer is responsible for performing simulations for aero/thermal development, support cooling, thermal protection and climate control development. The candidate will work with Thermal Integration and release groups to communicate simulation results and recommendations. The position will be responsible to support new architecture development, developing and executing Design of Experiment (DOE) studies for new architecture vehicles and balance aerodynamic and thermal attributes and will work closely with Advanced Concepts Engineering and Styling studio to communicate results and make recommendations based on simulations.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Structural, Mechanical, Civil or Aerospace Engineering from an ABET accredited university
  • Minimum 5 years engineering experience
  • Experience in simulations for aero/thermal development, support cooling, thermal protection and climate control development
  • Extensive experience in using CFD software - STAR-CCM+, Powerflow, ANSA, Hypermesh
  • Experienced in automating simulation process to facilitate large number of DOE simulations including preprocessing, simulation and post processing
  • Capability to interpret CFD results and communicate key message to design community
  • Strong understanding of product development process, various vehicle systems and interplay between them

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master's degree in Structural/Mechanical/Civil or Aerospace Engineering from an ABET accredited university is preferred
  • Good presentation skills
  • Good problem solving ability
  • Good knowledge of fundamental physics and structural engineering principles
  • Excellent organizational, communication and teamwork skills
  • Experience leading teams and solving complex issues
  • Should be proficient in use of Microsoft Windows and Office applications
