The Manager -- Federal Tax Compliance and Planning will manage preparation and review of Federal Income Tax Compliance activities for the FCA US LLC and associated subsidiaries. She/he will assist management in the identification, research and implementation of federal tax savings/deferral opportunities.

Job responsibilities include but are not limited to:

Federal Tax Compliance

  • Manage federal compliance activities including preparation and review of the Consolidated Federal Income Tax Return, Estimated Payments/Distributions and present summary highlights to VP of Tax and CFO
  • Review surplus reserve analysis and all other significant book-to-tax adjustments related to the federal income tax returns
  • Assist with legislative efforts, calculations and audit defenses on federal income tax issues
  • Identify and maximize the utilization of federal tax attributes, particularly NOL's and Research Credits, and their effects on our cash position
  • Prepare and Review responses to IRS audit requests

Federal Tax Forecasting

  • Preparation/Review of monthly forecast calculations
  • Provide analysis and support regarding operative business plans and budgeting
  • Provide detailed information to corporate accounting regarding income tax provisions and cash effect of taxes
  • Provide support of year-end accounting for income tax process, including uncertain tax position analysis and deferred tax attributes

Tax Planning

  • Manage tax planning projects as assigned, including research, review, implementation, direction of outside advisors and specialists and reporting to VP of Tax
  • Support the Tax Research and Audit staff with ongoing preparation and review of responses to IRS information requests and preparation of Federal Tax reserves
  • Manage reorganization and entity restructuring efforts, including all compliance and IRS reporting requirements 

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor degree in Accounting or Finance
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience (two years of supervisory experience) in income tax preparation, with an emphasis on corporate in either a Fortune 100 manufacturing company or a national/regional public accounting firm
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite of programs
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Strong work ethic

Preferred Qualifications:

  • MBA or Master's degree in Taxation
  • CPA designation
