The Labor Economics Specialist will support special projects by providing strategic analysis to all levels of FCA related to labor costing, data analytics and scenario planning. The selected candidate will actively participate in strategy development, union data requests, costing analyses and communications relative to National Negotiations (UAW, Unifor, CTM) and benchmark analysis on HR related disciplines and make recommendations to senior HR leadership for implementation. He/she will be responsible for completing of Labor Economics assignments (e.g., annual and ad hoc labor cost studies), participating in People Analytics studies and have taking responsibility for certain workforce reporting (quarterly manpower variance and 2001 Reports). He/she will research and create one-pagers related to topics relevant to FCA, industry, competitor information and/or other topics that have a potential impact on FCA and/or Employee Relations, develop PowerPoint presentations as required, participate in the development and completion of the annual hourly employee attrition forecast, and develop quarterly Detroit 3 financial comparisons. Some duties will include completion of Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS) inquiries and surveys as required, completion of quarterly tax group requests as well as generate and coordinate sustainability reporting data / information pertaining to the Employee Relations group. Other duties as requested.

Basic Qualification:

  • Bachelor's degree
  • Minimum 5 years Human Resources or Finance experience
  • Demonstrated ability to perform data analysis
  • Highly proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Excellent communication skills -- written and verbal as well as presentations

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Advanced degree preferred
  • Demonstrated ability to deal effectively with all levels of employees
  • Ability to deal effectively with union counterparts including negotiations and issue resolution
  • Demonstrated problem investigation skills and excellent attention to detail
  • Manufacturing experience
  • Knowledge of union contracts
  • Previous labor economics experience and/or negotiation experience
