The Design Engineering Hours per Vehicle (D-EHPV) Analyst for Industrial Engineering will be responsible for completing studies focused on Lean design for assembly implementation. The Analyst will interact with the Advanced Manufacturing Engineering (AME) Product Team, Product Design and Process Design groups, defining best practices for Lean design techniques to implement in development programs that will yield the lowest possible investment and variable cost impact to those programs. The D-EHPV Analyst will pull data from A2mac1 database, AMPS, Teamcenter and other sources to compare vehicles D-EHPV. This position ensures data compares like information so gap analysis can be performed and presented for actionable intelligence. The Analyst will visit breakdown center, assembly plant or other locations as required, to better understand how to implement design improvements and determine a more accurate savings estimation.

Additional responsibilities:

  • Perform gap analysis and present findings to the D-EHPV Lead on a weekly basis.
  • Improve the D-EHPV analysis process by writing macros, using various automated tools, developing templates and standardized methodology.
  • Build the master D-EHPV database concept as an enabling tool for targeting Best in Class competitors and current FCA program baseline D-EHPV data.
  • Support World Class Manufacturing (WCM) and World Class Technology (WCT), especially Workplace Organization (including NVA analysis, workstation optimization and waste elimination).

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor of Science degree
  • 2+ years of Industrial Engineering experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Demonstrated leadership abilities
  • Data collection, root cause analysis, and practical problem solving skills
  • Familiarity with time and motion studies, development of standardized work, manpower estimation, and standard time data
  • Working knowledge of MODAPTS, MTM and/or other standard data system
  • Demonstrated Lean manufacturing background with experience in implementation of lean manufacturing principles.
  • Understanding of manufacturing systems with the ability to apply throughput management process techniques and assess equipment capacity
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while driving results
  • Strong ability to comprehend complex data streams and develop appropriate action plans
  • Available to work extended hours in support of current improvements and launch activities (Travel less than 10%)
  • Strong competence preparing/delivering presentations to all levels of management
  • Highly proficient in Microsoft Office applications
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Degree in Industrial Engineering
  • Working knowledge of Teamcenter
  • Certified in MODAPTS, MTM or other standard data system
  • Background in statistical analysis tools and techniques
