Hybrid Calibration Engineer - Electrified Powertrain Job, Auburn Hills, MI

The Hybrid Powertrain Calibration Engineer will work within a team of Powertrain controls and calibration engineers to develop hybrid powertrain systems for FCA vehicles. The overall goal for the team is to provide a complete electrified powertrain that meets the vehicle functional requirements for fuel economy, emissions, drivability, and diagnostics. We are looking for top talent to continue the development of current and next generation electrification technologies for Fiat Chrysler Automobiles. The successful engineer will have knowledge of systems development, controls strategy, and/or calibration. He/she must be a strong team player, systems focused with cross-disciplinary interests, and willing to work in a fast paced environment. The ideal candidate will have an understanding of automotive powertrain systems, control systems, and/or embedded systems.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor of Science in Applied Physics, Mechanical, Electrical, Aerospace, Industrial, Computer Engineering, or related Engineering field from an ABET accredited university
  • 3 years of experience with powertrain calibration development
  • General overall knowledge of vehicle and powertrain functions
  • Data acquisition experience, collecting and processing data
  • MATLAB / SIMULINK experience in a controls environment
  • Outstanding problem solving and analytical skills, good teamwork skills and ability to work independently
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master of Science in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or Master of Science in Computer Science from an ABET accredited university
  • Experience with data acquisition and analysis tools such as ETAS-INCA
  • Experience with embedded software languages and development processes
  • Hardware-in-the-loop development/verification
  • Database management of production calibrations
