The Hybrid Battery Management Control Systems Engineer will work to develop battery management system (BMS) hardware for use in electrified powertrains. Job responsibilities include but are not limited to: evaluating battery management system design and architecture, defining requirements for hardware and software, evaluating supplier systems, performing DFMEAs, developing test plans, developing and tracking supplier deliverables and timing, troubleshooting issues, and testing systems on a bench and in vehicles.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Controls, Systems, Chemical Engineering, Physics, or related field
  • 2 years of experience in electrical circuit design with use of electrical/electronic components used in BMS hardware
  • Proficiency in Matlab/Simulink and electrical simulation tools (e.g., OrCAD, pSpice)
  • Experience with software and hardware development and diagnostics tools (e.g., HIL testers, CANalyzer, INCA, etc.)
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent problem solving and organizational skills

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master of Science degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Controls, Systems, Chemical Engineering, Physics, or related field
  • Experience with development and testing of battery systems in hybrid and/or electric vehicles
  • Lithium ion battery experience
  • Prior innovative patents and publications relevant to the field
