The Senior Buyer, Facilities Purchasing ($350M APV) is responsible to manage procurement of the regional construction manager (RCM) program, general contracting, architectural engineering, and equipment installation in support of all FCA sites. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the development of commodity strategies, cost savings goals, contract negotiations with suppliers and collaboration with the supply base on various commercial issues to ensure actions are consistent with corporate objectives. This position will also support the various process and procedures of the Indirect Purchasing team, while driving improvements to the organization and improving efficiency. The ideal candidate will possess the ability to multi-task; have excellent time management skills and the ability to set priorities independently. This position requires strong leadership, ability to work at a fast pace, quickly resolve high impact operational/commercial concerns and solid business acumen.

 Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor of Science degree from an AACSB or ABET accredited university in Business, Marketing, Finance, Management, Supply Chain, Engineering or other related field
  • Minimum 7 years of experience in purchasing or related field
  • Well organized, self-motivated, and resourceful managing complex situations
  • Comfortable in a fast paced environment with the ability to effectively interface with cross-functional teams and all levels of senior management
  • Strong communication and commodity leadership skills
  • Proficient using MS Office programs

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master of Business degree
  • Experience in the automotive industry, simultaneously managing multiple commodities
  • Strong negotiation skills and the ability to think and act strategically
