We're looking for a strong leader who will be responsible for all emissions certification testing activities for FCA current and future vehicles. The Emissions Certification Leader is expected to establish productive working relationships, founded on trust and transparency, with our internal and external partners. Sound judgment, excellent communication skills and the ability to challenge the status quo, drive decisions through consensus and influence change are a must. Job responsibilities include but not limited to:
  • Inspire, grow and develop a team of highly effective supervisors and engineers
  • Ensure that all gasoline, electrified powertrain and diesel emissions, and OBD certification data and all in-use testing programs for domestically and export sold vehicle requirements are fulfilled to support the issuance of EPA's certificate of compliance and the California Air Resource Board's (CARB) executive order
  • Lead the preparation for all documentations for Auxiliary Emissions Control Devices (AECDs)
  • Serve as California Air Resources Board (CARB) interface on all emissions certification testing matters
  • Proactively communicate new regulatory requirements and technical requirements to internal stakeholders

Basic Qualifications:
  • Bachelor of Science in engineering, science or other technical discipline from an accredited university
  • 10+ years of experience powertrain engineering (calibration, on-board diagnostics, emissions, etc.) or regulatory experience
  • 5+ years of experience managing engineers
  • Demonstrated experience leading major initiatives across many functional areas
  • Technical and managerial leadership capability to develop organization and individuals
  • Detailed oriented
  • Ability to understand and interpret regulatory requirements
  • Ability to handle multiple assignments and meet aggressive deadlines
  • Ability to breakdown complex issues
 
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Demonstrated experience in issue and project management
  • Decisive; capable of making decisions and providing solutions under pressure and within time constraints
  • Ability to multi-task, prioritize work and function in a fast-paced, collaborative environment
