The Embedded Systems Process and Design Review Engineer works within the Embedded System Quality Engineering department. This organization is responsible for processes, practices, methods, tools and policies that result in embedded software which meets the customer expectations and requirements with quality, on time. The position requires a mix of experience in automotive subsystems, software development, project management and software quality assurance. The Process and Design Review Engineer works closely with other groups within FCA on establishing best-practice software development processes, setting Key Performance Indicators, and assessing development artifacts to assure compliance to FCA standards. The Engineer is responsible for conducting software supplier capability assessments to support sourcing decisions and will report status on software quality across all vehicle projects. The position will be located in Auburn Hills, Michigan with domestic/international travel up to 20% of the time.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical, Systems, or Computer Engineering from an ABET accredited university
  • 15 years development experience in any of the following: Powertrain systems, embedded software, systems engineering, CAN and diagnostic communication
  • Excellent communication skills to engage in technical discussions with multiple experienced experts

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master of Science degree in Electrical, Systems, or Computer Engineering from an ABET accredited university
  • Knowledge and experience with CMMI or A-SPICE principles and methodology
  • Knowledge and experience of software verification methods (e.g. static and dynamic analysis)
  • Experience with assessing projects for ASPICE conformance
  • Experience with complex integrated systems with embedded software
  • Experience with complex integrated product launches
  • Experience with project management
  • Demonstrated experience with global collaboration
  • Self-directed, action-oriented and organized
