Embedded Software Cybersecurity Engineer/Researcher Job, Auburn Hills, MI

The Embedded Software Cybersecurity Engineer is responsible for developing automotive cybersecurity software specifications, monitoring prototype development, and analyzing the interaction of in-vehicle networks and modules. Recommendations based on the analysis of the existing systems and how to protect them will be a necessary skill in this emerging field. The Embedded Software Cybersecurity Engineer will have the opportunity to play a critical lead role in developing and analyzing automotive embedded software cybersecurity solutions. The Embedded Software Cybersecurity Engineer will participate in formal customer presentations and proposals as a technical subject matter expert, as well as manage the research and development efforts within larger projects.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor of Science in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering or related field from an ABET accredited university
  • Experience with PKI systems
  • Knowledge of certificate signing authorities

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master of Science in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering or related field from an ABET accredited university
  • CISSP, CISA, CISM, or similar certification
  • Understanding of Windows internal C/C++ and either UNIX/Linux or mobile (Android) platform skills
  • Proficiency with cryptography, computer and/or network security
  • Operating systems internals (i.e. OS primitives and Application Binary Interface)
  • Reverse engineering, vulnerability analysis, exploit development, and related disciplines
  • Deep network protocols analysis
  • Device drivers
  • Embedded systems analysis
  • Binary analysis of "unknown" origin or type (e.g. Malware/Exploit analysis)
  • Virtual machines and Hypervisor technologies
  • Kernel/user mode debugger technologies
  • Tools such as WinDbg/Wireshark/IDA-Pro/OllyDbg/Immunity/Python
  • Clear oral, and written communications capabilities to both technical and non-technical audiences
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office suite
  • Experience with project management, software engineering and/or consulting
