Electrified Powertrain System Development and Validation Engineer - Entry Level Job, Auburn Hills, MI

The Electrified PT System Development and Validation Vehicle Triage and Testing Engineer is responsible for developing and testing the electrified powertrain system functional test specifications and performing validation tests for vehicle electrification applications as well as lead the vehicle triage and troubleshooting activities for issues discovered during the development and validation process. The Engineer will design, develop, test, and continuously improve system validation test specifications as well as work closely with the powertrain calibration and design teams. The Engineer will use best test practices and document test results to ensure functional objectives, quality, and customer satisfaction targets are met. The Engineer will analyze test results and lead corrective action recommendations to the electrification team. Additionally, he/she will support vehicle plant pilot builds and validation cold/hot trips as needed.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor of Science in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering or other related Engineering or Physics degree from an ABET accredited university
  • Good understanding of powertrain electronics/engine technology
  • Understanding of DVP&R and DFMEA development
  • Analytical problem solving skills to troubleshoot complex issues
  • Experience with Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
  • Highly motivated self-starter
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a team environment
  • Strong verbal/written communication skills
  • Proven leadership skills

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master of Science in Applied Physics, Mechanical, Electrical, Aerospace, Computer Engineering, or related Engineering field from an ABET accredited university
  • Software controls experience
  • System integration/developing validation tests for electrification systems
  • Working experience with FCA diagnostic tools (wiTECH or CDA)
  • Working experience with Vector CANalyzer or CANoe software programs
