The Electrified Powertrain Control Algorithm Development Supervisor will work within a team of powertrain controls, calibrations and integration engineers to develop electrified powertrain systems for current and next-generation electrified powertrains for FCA vehicles. The overall goal for the team is to develop a complete electrified powertrain that meets the vehicle functional requirements for fuel economy, emissions, drivability and diagnostics.
The ideal candidate who is a proven leader, a strong team player and willing to work in a fast-paced environment, will be responsible for delivering control algorithms, as well as processes, methods and tools to manage a variety of systems and subsystems in the electrified powertrain platform. Each of the selected candidates will lead a team of 5 engineers to coordinate and facilitate the team activities and act as the single point contact for all issues related to the team. Being process oriented and having interdisciplinary experience, the ideal candidate must be able to lead the team to significantly contribute to the development of hybrid powertrain controls and enhance the adhered to processes and tools. The Supervisor will lead one or more of the following areas of responsibility: torque path and optimization, shifting and hydraulics, control architecture, modeling and advanced controls development.


Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelors of Science in Applied Physics, Mechanical, Electrical, Aerospace, or Computer Engineering, or a related engineering field from an ABET accredited university
  • 8 years of engineering experience
  • 5+ years of experience in powertrain controls and software development
  • Demonstrated technical problem solving
  • Strong overall knowledge of vehicle and powertrain functions
  • Experience with modeling, simulation, development, testing, calibration and/or validation
  • Outstanding interpersonal and problem solving skills

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Masters in Mechanical, Electrical, Aerospace, or related engineering field from an ABET accredited university
  • Specialization in classical and modern control disciplines with vehicle application
  • Embedded software experience
  • Knowledge of powertrain control system architecture/best practices
  • Demonstrated application of technical excellence
  • Experience with model-based development tools such as MATLAB/SIMULINK
  • Experience with data acquisition and analysis tools such as ETAS-INCA
